Season’s Greetings

Welcome, welcome one and all.

This year’s Christmas started on somewhat of a downer, with my New Zealand holiday being cancelled – but due to some creative shopping on a trip to Geneva was booked instead. We flew out on the 24th from London City Airport, and spent three nights in the AWESOME 5-star Mövenpick Hotel in Geneva.

I ate far too much food whilst I was there. Particularly ice cream, being a Mövenpick hotel ice cream was plentiful! Being on the Executive Floor we had access to the Executive Lounge which had unlimited alcohol for free – the amount of gin I went through was impressive. The room had a whirlpool bath which I made use of several times, it was bliss.

Yesterday we went up the Alps, on a cable car system, I got to run around in snow! It was awesome – the views were truly magnificent – it was freezing though. I haven’t seen proper snow for about 3 years!!!
Went out for dinner on Weds night and scoffed myself silly on Racklet (melted smoked swiss cheese) and beef fondue. They just kept bringing the steak, non stop – was amazing. The um-pa-pa music drove me a bit potty though. It was really entertain as a kind of Disneyfied version of Switzerland.

Got back this afternoon despite some small delays at the airport, flew back into City Airport and got the DLR home. Now catching up on recorded TV programmes including the Christmas special of Doctor Who.

So to everyone I didn’t get a card to, or see before I went away… Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Let’s hope 2008 is better than 2007 was for me eh?
